"Design: There is a Japanese spirit to this garden. The use of different stone types with a dry stream of rock imbedded into the terrace evoke details from Japanese gardens. The custom-designed granite fountain spiraling from the top center out to the rim of the fountain provides a focal point from the house and the terrace. Lush plantings screen views of the rear areas of the garden, however the stepping stones draw the viewer into its depth.

James von Sweden and Wolfgang Oehme founded the firm of Oehme, can Sweden & Associates in 1977. Since then, they have collaborated on a full range of landscape design projects, many of which have been honored with distinguished awards and published reviews."
